Belgian Waffle, Anybody?

siadrallylogomed.gifIt would appear that the Belgian authorities are on the run. The hearing today in Brussels of the case for allowing the demonstration was sabotaged by the judges who decided that the French language was the correct language to use for hearing the case and not Dutch and that therefore they could not give a ruling on the case. Which appears as total nonsense to me, as both languages are spoken and indeed are accepted as official national languages in Belgium. This is obviously merely time-wasting by the Belgian political elite and their political judges are doubtless under instructions to railroad the demonstration out of existence. More here from SIOE.

Freddy Thielemans was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, and during that interview he admitted that “if the counterprotesters were my only worry, I’d probably let the demonstration go ahead.”
What then, are his other worries?
Pressed on this he answered ” It is the possibility of violent racists infiltrating the protest, mingling among peaceful demonstrators and provoking and attacking foreigners.”
Oh. So he agrees we are peaceful demonstrators then. The infiltrators would easily have been dealt with by stewards and the police who were committed to working together. I don’t see his point.
Read the interview, or clips from it here, on the Center for Vigilant Freedom website.

The Brussels Journal brings a round up of the days events surrounding the hearings today. The article quotes both Dr. Udo Ulfkotte and our defense lawyer, Mr. Hugo Coveliers. The article ends with this statement:

“Obviously, it is the strategy of the Belgian authorities to drag the case [out] in order to make life harder for the organizers. It is not impossible that the Council of State will only rule on 10 September, leaving the organizers less than one day to make arrangements. It is even possible that, adding insult to injury, it will rule after 9/11 that the 9/11 demo is allowed to go ahead.

However, whether or not the demonstration will be permitted, Europeans who oppose the islamization of their continent will convene on Tuesday 11 September at 12 am (noon) at the Schuman Square (Rond-Point Schuman), in front of the Berlaymont building, the headquarters of the European Commission, to hold one minute of silence for the victims of 9/11/2001.”

So there we have it. Be at the Schuman Square (Rond-Point Schuman), in front of the Berlaymont building at noon on the 11th of September. We’ll see where it goes from there.

goldstarbullshit-transparency.gifFinally, I haven’t given out a Bullshit Award lately but here is the best opportunity I will ever have. To the Belgian High Court. The 2007 Best Ever Bullshit Award for their idiotic and despicable treatment of the whole affair. They should be well and truly ashamed of themselves, the land they represent and the political system they support.

Those of us that are intent on being in Brussels will be there anyway. They will not stop us and they will not hinder us in our protest. We will have the final word on the day. Whether they like it, or not.
